Come learn the basics of needle-turn reverse applique and its cousin, channel applique, in this 4-hour class with Marie O’Kelley. She’ll show you how this technique is used in molas, Hawaiian applique, and Hmong needlework.
You’ll choose a veinned leaf pattern from Marie’s collection of patterns and learn to how to reverse applique skinny lines, curves, and points, all with hand-sewing. With the skills developed by working with this sample, you’ll be set to work up a full reverse applique project or add a splash of reverse applique to other works. Come explore this beautiful and unusual technique and expand how you work with fabric.
